Safety tips
Most people on JordanDeals are honest, but scammers exist on every marketplace. These habits keep you safe:
For buyers
- Meet in person in a busy public place (a mall, a café, outside a police station) during the day.
- Check the item carefully before paying. For phones, check the IMEI and that it isn't locked to an account. For cars, get an inspection and check the papers at the licensing department.
- Never pay in advance — no deposits, transfers, CliQ payments or gift cards before you see the item.
- Be careful with deals that are too good to be true, sellers who push you to hurry, or anyone who wants to move the chat off JordanDeals immediately.
- Never share verification codes (SMS codes, OTPs) with anyone.
For sellers
- Don't accept "overpayments" or cheques for more than the price.
- Don't send the item before you're paid, and confirm money transfers have actually arrived.
- Don't share personal documents or codes.
Real estate and cars
- Check ownership documents with the official authorities before paying anything.
- Be wary of rentals where the "owner is abroad" and asks for a deposit to send keys.
